Duopharma Biotech Halal Pharmapreneur (DBHP) program was introduced in 2017 which aims to equip pharmacists/ pharmacy owners with knowledge and skills with respect to financial management, human resource management, marketing and others. In addition, it also aims to align the business with Shariah principles/ practices. These pharmacists are also equipped with the knowledge on halal and halal pharmaceuticals to assist them with answering the questions from customers/patients around them regarding the halal status of pharmaceutical products and for them to promote the concept of halal pharmaceuticals.
The initiative is a collaboration between Duopharma Biotech with Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), Centre for Entrepreneur Development and Research (CEDAR), SME Bank and Koperasi Farmasi Muslim (Muslim Pharmacist Cooperatives). This initiative is one of the efforts to support the development of Bumiputera entrepreneurs and professionals and strengthening the Malaysian Halal Agenda. It is also an effort to enhance the capabilities of the Halal Pharmaceutical Value Chain for retailers (especially for pharmacies).
