Duopharma Biotech Halal Pharmapreneur (DBHP) program was introduced in 2017 which aims to equip pharmacists/ pharmacy owners with knowledge and skills with respect to financial management, human resource management, marketing and others. In addition, it also aims to align the business with Shariah principles/ practices. These pharmacists are also equipped with the knowledge on halal and halal pharmaceuticals to assist them with answering the questions from customers/patients around them regarding the halal status of pharmaceutical products and for them to promote the concept of halal pharmaceuticals.
The objectives of this program are to:
- Enhance the capacity of entrepreneurs in the halal pharmaceutical retail chain;
- Improve the capabilities and knowledge in promoting halal pharmaceuticals;
- Deliver the accurate information leading to improving the quality of life.
To date, there are 33 participants from the community pharmacies located in Peninsular Malaysia namely in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Kedah, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Pahang and Melaka.
With the availability of this community pharmacies, it is hoped that it will be easier for customers/ patients who have problems and inquiries regarding medicines, halal status of medicines and health care products, leading them towards having a greater peace of mind on the safety, efficacy, quality and hygiene of the products taken.
