The objective of this initiative is to train and nurture pharmacy undergraduates the learning principles of entrepreneurship in community retail pharmacies in hopes the knowledge learned would equip them once they enter the working world. Under this three-year programme, the undergraduate will understand halal and halal pharmaceutical, marketing, business management and hands-on retailing.
Self-Help Medical Assistance for Pilgrims
Performing Hajj is a duty that every Muslims should perform when he/she is physically able and has financial means. It is the fifth and final pillar of Islam. As Hajj is one of the biggest seasons where millions of Muslims meet in the holy city of Makkah, to keep the pilgrims healthy to perform their Hajj, CCM Duopharma has put together a self-help medical set.
In each self-help kit comes with Uphamol 650 for safe and effective relief from headaches, pain or fever; Flavettes Vitamin C Effervescent to strengthen the body’s resistance by boosting the immune system; Alucid tablets to treat heartburn, acid indigestion, stomach upset, overdose, toxicity, sour stomach and other digestive conditions; and Eye Glo to relieve eye irritations caused by dry conditions.
The self-help medical set was distributed through Tabung Haji’s Sahabat Korporat Tabung Haji programme in 2017 as part of our pledge in support of Hajj pilgrims for the 14th consecutive year.
Ethical Business Promotion
At CCM Duopharma, we believe in responsible marketing and advertising when promoting our products to consumers and healthcare practitioners. It is a duty under our corporate responsibility, fardhu kifayah and commitment as the market leader in halal pharmaceuticals, to ensure all products labelled are clear, legible, accurate, balanced, fair and complete.
At the same time, to broaden the awareness on halal pharma, the company has held CCM Duopharma CME (continuous medical education) roadshows. These roadshows allow us to share topics on the concept and needs on halal pharma, halal pharmaceutical certification, and advancement in R&D in this sector. The roadshows provide the company with a platform to share and educate consumers on halal pharma.
